Dr Bill Baron (Willy B)

Dr. Bill Baron is a Brooklyn native whose professional life began in the sciences, earning a degree in Biology from Brooklyn College before completing the DMD–MD program at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and a residency at Jamaica Hospital in New York.

Years spent working within the most intricate and intimate structures of the human form cultivated in Baron a heightened sensitivity to detail, structure, and balance — qualities that now inform his artistic practice.

In 2020, Baron turned his lifelong interest in visual expression into a focused pursuit. What began with representational subjects — tropical birds, florals, and iconic figures — evolved into increasingly interpretive and abstract works distinguished by bold color relationships and dynamic movement.

Baron’s practice embraces layered acrylics, metallics, mixed media, and fluid techniques to create immersive surfaces that invite reflection. Many of his works are conceived as contemplative experiences, encouraging viewers to slow their gaze, engage emotionally, and discover personal meaning within the composition.

His paintings often reward sustained attention, revealing shifting forms and subtle interactions of color and texture that reflect both precision and spontaneity. Through this balance, Baron explores the intersection of structure and freedom — discipline and intuition.
